How to get an indestructible knife (Primal Knife) in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
This knife is called “Primal Knife” and can be obtained by destroying a total of 16 Clockwork Castellans each chapter during the game, purchasing the Bonus Weapon, the Primal Knife, from the “BONUSES > EXTRA CONTENT SHOP”, and modifying this knife in-game from “STORE > TUNE UP” to Exclusive to make it indestructible.
I played this part in Korean and since you can only get this achievement once, I’m including the English description in the Korean screenshot below.
This note appears in Chapter 2,
but the Clockwork Castellan is from Chapter 1.

If you break all 16 Clockwork castellans, the achievement “Revolution Wind-up” will be unlocked, and you will be rewarded with 1,000 CP for completing the challenge and the “Pimal Knife” added to the EXTRA Content Shop.
Obtain bonus weapons via the Storage menu at any typewriter after purchase.
If you get a modification from a merchant, it will have infinite durability.
Upgrading to Exclusive will also unlock the achievement “Masterpiece”.
💂 Chapter.1—Lakeside Settlement
In the lakeside settlement, at the location circled in red on the left map below, there is a Clockwork Castellan on a pierced roof. Shoot it!
💂 Chapter.2 — Abandoned Factory
There is a Clockwork Castellan in the back corner of the table with a note about the “Revolution Wind-up” mission.
Stab it with a knife to save bullets.
💂 Chapter.3~4 — Merchant shop docks
In the lower level of the merchant’s shop between the quarry and the lake, go down to the dock and get to the location on the map below, where you will find the Clockwork Castellan between the crates and the roof.
💂 Chapter.4—Forest Altar, Lakeside Settlement
Take the boat to the lakeside settlement, open the door with the key to the altar, and go to the location on the map below at the altar in the forest,
You will see the Clockwork Castellan through the wooden fence.
💂 Chapter.5 — 3F, Village Chief’s Manor
The location was confirmed in Chapter 2, but Leon can’t climb up to the attic on his own.
Pull the lever in the room, the ladder will descend and stop, and when you get closer, you’ll see the marker that you need Ashley.
You can climb up there with the help of Ashley, as shown below.
Ashley below is a paid mod ($10) called “RE4 AG Patriot Pool Party”. See the link below for more information about it.
In the attic, look in the area with the junk and you will find a clockwork castellan, as shown below.
💂 Chapter.6 — Checkpoint
On the way to the checkpoint, look over the cliff to the side where the firewood is burning and you will find the Clockwork Castellan.
💂 Chapter.7 — Treasury Room, Dungeon
Defeat the Garrador in the basement before heading to the treasury.
The Clockwork Castellan is located on the top shelf, as shown below.
💂 Chapter.8 — Castle Battlements
If you go to the red circled area on the map below, in the opposite direction of your destination, while the monster is still throwing rocks, you will find the Clockwork Castellan in the corner, on a stack of crates and sandbags.
💂 Chapter.9—Courtyard Maze
The location is just below the stairs, but if you go through the maze to get there, the Clockwork Castellan is in the corner with the cloth-covered items.
💂 Chapter.10—Depths
After exiting the depths, look below where the merchant is, look ahead and you’ll see a cage, and just in front of this cage, look up and you’ll see the Clockwork Castellan.
💂 Chapter.11—Stopover
When you get off the wagon at the “Stopover” on the railroad and look at the top floor of the building next to it, as shown below, you will see something moving.
On the right below is a zoomed-in shot of what I was aiming at with my rifle’s high magnification scope and what I was just looking at.
💂 Chapter.12—Clock Tower
After entering the Clock Tower and clearing out the incoming enemies, head to the map location below to find the Clockwork Castellan.
💂 Chapter.13—Wharf
Before you get to the surveillance room, you can see the Clockwork Castellan down between the forklift and the containers in the area where the containers are located, as shown below.
💂 Chapter.14—Campsite
After Sadler takes Ashley to the campsite, at the location circled in red on the map below, on top of the cabinet.
💂 Chapter.15—Specimen Storage
In the Specimen Storage, where the Regenerador has been handled and the body bags are hanging like punching bags, look toward the ceiling at the location circled in red on the map below, and you’ll see a clockwork castellan on a beam.
💂 Chapter.16 — Underground Passage
At the end of the time limit, just after you go through the door and get stuck, behind the forklift, there is a final Clockwork Castellan on top of a stack of crates as shown below.
Break it, and you’ll get the achievement “Revolution Wind-up”.
