In this mission, I present my own strategy for acquiring the 📰Newspaper ‘Body Found’, ‘Serial Killer on the Loose’, 📜Missing ‘Leslie’, a camping lamp, a revolver, parts, numerous green gel bottles, syringes, matches, and 📒‘Sebastian’s Journal — November 2004.’
※ The Evil Within is an extremely violent horror game.

💕Hospital
When Sebastian wakes up, there is a newspaper with the article 📰‘Body Found’ and a glass jar containing green gel indicated with a brain icon on the desk in the prison-like hospital room. The green gel is collected and used as points for upgrades.
💊Green Gel
Green Gel, also referred to as Brain Gel, is one of several major resources found in The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2.
Large amounts of Green Gel are consumed to enable Sebastian Castellanos to upgrade his gear and abilities.

💾Game Save in Hospital
If you approach the door, the nurse will open it after a moment. Going left outside leads to a mirror needed for spatial travel to or from the hospital later. Following the nurse, she will show you where to save the game.
The content below is partly the same and partly different from the Korean-written article. The progress in the game differs slightly when the language is set to English compared to when a Korean patch is applied. Therefore, the content may not be the same.
For reference, in the Korean patch version, at this point, there is a 📰newspaper with the article ‘Serial Killer on the Loose’ and a 📜Missing ‘Leslie’ flyer in front of the nurse.
🎯Achievement “À la Corvo”
Have they lost their minds? Better get past them without a fight. (Ch.2)
To unlock this achievement, the player must reach the end of Chapter 2 without killing any other enemy other than Oscar Connelly. This includes the Haunted that must normally be killed to complete the Sneak kill tutorial, who must be led away instead. The achievement is awarded once Sebastian had made it past the crank gate without killing anyone.

❓Corvo
The ‘Corvo’ is a blade-style weapon commonly used in Chile and was widely employed during the War of the Pacific. According to local legend, Chilean soldiers, before engaging in close combat, drank a beverage called ‘Chupilca del Diablo,’ a mixture of black powder and a potent Chilean liquor similar to rum, which drove them into a frenzy to attack the enemy.

🗺️Map Fragment #1
Behind the chair where you upgrade your abilities, there is ‘🗺️Map Fragment 1.’ There are a total of 28 map fragments up to Case 15, the ‘An Evil Within’ mission. If you collect them all, you can obtain a special weapon.
With the green gel you just obtained, you can perform an ‘Unlock’ to upgrade your brain in the future. The game starts from the location where you crashed at the end of Case 1.
👁️Ambulance
The beginning of Case 1 starts at the point where the car accident occurs. There is a syringe to restore health in front.
There is a 2 green gel bottles beside and behind the ambulance.
The road shows skid marks or bloody drag marks.
Following these marks, you will encounter a grotesque animal carcass and a wooden box at a spot where crows fly away.
Break the wooden box with a melee attack (F key) to obtain a green gel bottle. From this position, if you look around, you’ll see a bright area. Head there~
👮Oscar Connelly, transformed into a monster
Head towards the light to obtain the camping Lantern, then proceed towards Oscar Connelly in the distance. Now, you can press the Q key to turn your flashlight on and off in dark areas.
As you approach, you’ll find a revolver.
When Oscar tries to attack, quickly backtrack to where you came from, aim carefully, and shoot to defeat him easily.
The screenshot below has been adjusted for brightness to enhance clarity.
Although breaking the boxes inside the tent yields nothing, there is a green gel bottle in the right corner. If it’s your first playthrough, nothing will drop, but if you die once during the playthrough, breaking the boxes will result in random item drops from then on.
👁️Leslie
Continue along the path and you’ll come across a cave-like area. There is a green gel bottle inside, directly ahead.
If you take the path to the right, there is a booby trap in front of where Leslie is standing.
After the cutscene, crouch and approach the line as shown in the screenshot below. Hold the spacebar to disarm it. With the ‘acquired parts’ from disarming, you can craft crossbow bolts later once you obtain the crossbow.
👁️Matches
Following the path out of the cave, you’ll see a carriage on the right where crows are cawing over a corpse before flying away. There is a green gel bottle in the carriage.
Next to the corpse, there is a matchbox. When you have matches, you can burn fallen creatures by pressing the C key, as shown in the screenshot below.
📒Sebastian’s Journal
If you enter the cabin along the way,
you can watch a demonstration of spatial movement by a skilled assistant,
and pick up the ‘📒Journal of Sebastian Castellanos — November 2004’ in front of the mirror.
🪞Mirror Portal
Debussy’s ‘Clair de Lune’ plays, and you can use the portal. At this point, you need to go to the hospital to obtain the 📰 ‘SERIAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE’ newspaper and the 📜 Missing: Leslie flyer.
📰“SERIAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE” + 📜Missing: Leslie
The newspaper and missing person flyers are in front of the nurse as shown in the screenshots below.
💕 Hospital: Save and Upgrade
Since it’s the beginning of the game, I prioritized upgrading the items I use the most, focusing on the ammo capacity, accuracy, reload time, critical hits of the handgun, and match capacity.

There is a difference between the Korean patch version and the English version. I believe most people reading this will be playing the English version, so this is where I’ll stop discussing version differences.
For those interested in the content of the Korean patch version, please refer to the link below. The article in the link is written in Korean.
In the Korean patch version, when you haven’t passed through the mirror, the situation below is presented. In the English version, the same situation is presented whether you have visited the hospital through the mirror or not.
There is a man running away, and a monster is following him, pounding on a closed door. You can approach sneakily and perform a ‘Sneak Kill’ to deal with it.
In the Korean patch version, if you visit the hospital through the mirror, the situation below occurs. As shown in the bottom left screenshot, a guard patrols in front of the door to the spot marked with a red circle. If you are behind the stone wall but move ahead of the red line drawn in the bottom right screenshot, you will be discovered.
When the guard is passing in front of the carriage, walk towards him, then crouch from the second arrow position in the bottom left screenshot and approach to perform a Sneak Kill. In the bottom right screenshot, ‘Sneak Kill’ is displayed as ‘은폐 사살’ in Korean.
🗽Statue containing the key to the Morgue
Following the path, next to the door you need to pass through, there is a statue with a key inside when broken. Don’t waste precious bullets; hit it with a melee attack (F key) to get the key.
The nurse will explain how to use it when you visit the hspital later.
