I used to include this in each walkthrough, but I’ve gotten a lot of people searching for just this one, so I’m organizing it into a separate post. Here’s how to unlock Maglock Doors in Dead Island 2, ranging from simple to multiple panels.
※ Dead Island 2 has a reputation for being the ultimate in gore and horror. If you don’t want to see that, please, don’t read this article.

🔒 Tutorial: The Panic Room at Swanson’s Mansion
The first Maglock Door is located where you come to pick up the keycard for the front door of the Swanson’s mansion. If you break it, the door will open.
🔒 Security Room x2 in the Halperin Hotel
The security room in front of the underground parking lot at the Halperin Hotel and the security room in the parking lot where the buses are parked near the hotel entrance have maglocks.

This is the security room in the screenshot below.

The alarm device in the red circle and the panel behind it if you follow the green line,
You can destroy the panel by breaking the glass in the security room window and throwing your weapon at the panel with the blue wire connected to it.
However, if you don’t destroy the alarm device circled in red in the screenshot above beforehand, an alarm will sound and zombies will pour out of the sewers.
The second security room is almost identical.
🔒 Main entrance security room in Monarch Studios
There are no alarms, and You only need to destroy the panel connected to the green line to open the door.
🔐 Police Station in Venice Beach
There are no alarms, and you only need to destroy the two panels connected to the green and blue (Restroom) lines.
A walker is waiting in the restroom.
🔐 Inner door of the Landgate, Ocean Avenue
There are no alarms, and Follow the three wires above the inner door and destroy the three panels to open the door.
In the screenshot above, enter the door on the right and destroy the panel with the blue wire on the wall. The lines I’ve colored red are black lines in the game, but they’re hard to see, so I colored them red.
Follow the yellow line and you will find a stack of boxes that you can break, as shown on the left below. Destroy the boxes and the panel on the wall to open the door.
🔐 Metro ticket office on Hollywood Boulevard
There are no alarms, and you only need to destroy the three panels connected to the green, blue, and yellow lines.

In the screenshot below, the left side is inside a metro ticket office with a blue line connecting it. The right side can be found by following the yellow line to the right of the metro rail map.
